Services provided by Peak Project Consultants: Project Management, Civil Construction Management

The Cheekeye Debris Structure is one of the largest debris flow mitigation barriers in the world and a landmark project designed to protect downstream infrastructure from debris flow hazards. Constructed using roller-compacted and conventional concrete, the structure stands approximately 24 m high and provides long-term protection, engineered to withstand 3,000- to 10,000-year events.

Peak Project Consultants was engaged to support the Owner’s Team through project management oversight, civil construction management, coordination, and risk mitigation planning throughout project execution. Working collaboratively with project partners, Peak helped guide the project through successful completion while ensuring alignment with regulatory, environmental, quality, and safety requirements.

Completed in 2026, the Cheekeye Debris Structure is now a critical piece of resilient infrastructure that enhances public safety, protects existing and future development, and demonstrates the successful delivery of one of British Columbia’s most significant hazard mitigation projects.
